Welcome to start the global
engagement journey with me!
Hi, my name is Shirley You! 😊 I’m a sophomore at Wesleyan University, majoring in Economics and minoring in Global Engagement. With a passion for understanding global issues and human behavior, I love exploring how economic systems intersect with cultural diversity and gender equality.
I bring a unique perspective shaped by my roots in Suzhou, China, and my experiences navigating international education and work environments. From conducting market research in AI and biomedical tech to promoting diversity and inclusion as the DEI Chair of the Wesleyan Women in Finance Club, I’m committed to driving impact both in and out of the classroom.
I’m particularly passionate about finance, drawn to its dynamic nature and the opportunity to analyze complex problems, allocate resources efficiently, and create meaningful social value. I thrive in collaborative team environments where diverse perspectives come together to tackle challenges. Moreover, I’m constantly excited by the endless opportunities to learn and grow in this field, and I enjoy leveraging data and insights to drive decision-making.
Outside of work, you’ll probably find me traveling to new places, experimenting with recipes in the kitchen, or listening to Taylor Swift songs. I’m also passionate about storytelling—whether it’s through creative writing, engaging presentations, or connecting with people from all walks of life.
Feel free to explore my site and learn more about my journey, experiences, and projects. I’d love to hear from you! 🌏✨
